Energy customers still confused over bills shake-up

A requirement of the regulator Ofgem in their April 2014 reforms was to make bills simpler and clearer to understand, however, alongside the three in five (60%) people that still do not understand their energy bills, almost half of bill-payers (48%) additionally say that they have seen no difference to their statements.

Another requirement of the regulator Ofgem in their April 2014 reforms was to provide information on cheaper tariffs, however, more than half (51%) are unable to recall seeing any of this information.

Of those who have seen these cheaper tariffs on their bills, fewer than half (47%) actually switched to cheaper tariffs.
