Investigating online shoppers preferences for payment options

The Need

A global leader in payment processing wanted to investigate online shoppers preference when it came to payment options available on eCommerce sites. They also wanted to be able to quantify the potential advantages of adding extra payment options to its wide range of customers.

Our Approach

We conducted online interviews in 10 countries amongst adults aged 18+ who shop online. The survey asked behavioural and factual questions regarding their online shopping habits (in different areas of retail) and payment preferences. We also investigated a series of scenarios and how online shoppers may respond to them.

The Outcome

The findings were used to inform marketing / promotional activities using the insight on payment preferences in each region and as commercial collateral for new and existing business meetings.
