Call to end zero-hour contracts

New research conducted by Opinium for Neyber, calls for an end to zero-hour contracts as it is revealed a third of public sector workers surviving on income fluctuating by 10% over each month.

Over two fifths (45%) are borrowing cash to meet day to day financial needs, rising to 57% of those ahead 25-35, and a third (33%) of workers cite financial worries as their biggest concern.

Neyber linked these fears to an increase in zero hour contracts, stating the arrangement was “undermining financial well being of government and local authorities.”
